With the exhibition by Paulino, the Collahuasi Art Gallery reopens
From December 2022 to January 2023
Paulino Astudillo: “Painting is an art that should not decline in the region because we have a lot of talent here.” – to the local newspaper ‘La Estrella de Iquique’.
After two years of closure due to the pandemic, this cultural space begins its reactivation as a regional showcase for various artists and their creations, allowing the community of the Tarapacá region to reconnect with art in its various forms.
Collahuasi
Collahuasi is a mining company dedicated to the extraction and production of copper concentrate and molybdenum concentrate.
The company has a range of ongoing initiatives aimed at assisting in the rescue and preservation of the region’s heritage, with the understanding that in order to build a better tomorrow, it is necessary to preserve the history, identity, and traditions of the community.
Art Galleries Casa Collahuasi
Located in Iquique and Pica, the first of them was inaugurated in 2002 when the company acquired and restored two houses on Avenida Baquedano in the city of Iquique, which were later declared National Monuments.
Today, it is one of the most significant art venues in the city, where numerous exhibitions by prominent artists, both local and national, as well as international, have taken place.
